A document that fits is summarized in a single pass. A longer one is split into parts, each part is summarized, and the part summaries are combined into one.
Personal details are replaced first
Names, emails, phone numbers and addresses become placeholders before text goes to a third-party AI model. They are restored in the summary you read.
