In short
EnDocs AI compresses a PDF by optimizing its embedded images and file structure while keeping text, vector graphics and links intact. It never returns a file larger than the one you uploaded.
What it is
What is Compress PDF?
PDF compression reduces file size. In most PDFs the weight comes from embedded images, so the biggest savings come from lowering their resolution and quality sensibly, plus cleaning up unused data in the file.
Pick a level (high quality, recommended or maximum) or ask for a target size such as "under 2 MB". Results depend on the file: image-heavy scans shrink a lot, a text-only PDF has little left to remove.
Try saying
“Compress this PDF so it is under 2 MB.”
How to use it
Compress PDF in 3 steps
- 1
Upload your PDF
Drop your file in the box above or choose it from your device. No account is needed.
- 2
Choose how small
Say "recommended", "high quality" or "maximum", or a target like "under 2 MB".
- 3
Download the result
The smaller PDF is ready, with the size saved shown. Download it, or keep working on it in the same workspace.
Behind the scenes
How your file is processed
Images are the target
Large images are downsampled and re-encoded at a set quality for the level you choose (high quality, recommended or maximum). Small images are left alone.
Text and vectors are never rasterised
Pages are not turned into pictures. Text stays selectable and searchable, and vector graphics, links, bookmarks and form fields are preserved.
Transparency is respected
Images with transparency are kept in a format that supports it, so logos and overlays do not get ugly black boxes.
It will not make things worse
If the saving is under about 2% or the result would be bigger, you get your original file back with a message. The page count is checked against the original.
Your file stays yours
- Files are deleted automatically about 60 minutes after upload, when your guest session ends.
- Names, numbers, emails and addresses are swapped for placeholders before text reaches an AI model, then restored in the reply.
- No account is created. Your guest session is the only thing that identifies your files.

Who uses it
When Compress PDF helps
Email attachments
Get a report under a mailbox size limit without sending it as a link.
Portal uploads
Meet the file size cap on job, visa or tender application forms.
Scanned documents
Shrink image-based scans that are far larger than they need to be.
Storage and sharing
Keep a library of PDFs light enough to sync and open quickly on mobile.
Tips for better results
- Start with "recommended". Go to "maximum" only if you still need it smaller and the images allow it.
- If you need an exact ceiling, state it: "under 1 MB". The tool steps quality down until it fits or tells you it cannot.
- Merge first, then compress, so the final file is optimized once.
